Microsoft offers a Lumia 1020/1520 for your iPhone 4/4s, Galaxy S2
geeteam posted a topic in Mobile News
Just two days ago Microsoft announced a new trade-in deal for the US and Canada, which can give you up to $250 of store credit if you give up on your old smartphone or tablet. Today Microsoft has extended this deal with a special offer. If you opt to return your old Apple iPhone 4, iPhone 4S or Samsung Galaxy S II, you can have a Lumia 1020 or Lumia 1520 for free. Your old phone just needs to be working, with no missing parts or pieces. The deal expires on March 2, or until supplies last. he catch is that you'll have to sign a two-year contract with AT&T, to get the free Lumia unit. Lumia 1520 otherwise costs $200 on contract, while the Lumia 1020 has already dropped down to just $100 on a contract. Anyway, if you want to trade in your old gadget for a new Windows-based one, feel free to explore all deals throughout the US and Canada before making a decision. Source -
A tweet from evleaks proves that like us, the reliable source is slaving over a hot QWERTY over the weekend. But even more important is the content of the tweet which is a list of alleged new code names for upcoming Nokia devices. A couple of names on the list have a "Bond, James Bond" connection such as Goldfinger and Moneypenney. The other names are Normandy, Phantom and Spinel. Considering that Spinel is a magnesium aluminum mineral with the symbol MgAl2O4, this could be the code name for an aluminum clad Windows Phone handset. The other names lend themselves to a number of various interpretations. Windows Phone has picked up momentum in 2013, starting with the low-light photography niche, picking up speed with the strong sales of the entry-level Nokia Lumia 520/521, and continuing with the Nokia Lumia 1520 phablet with specs that rival that on any Android device. The latest data shows that Windows Phone captured 4% of the U.S. smartphone market in the third quarter. Perhaps one of the phones mentioned in the tweet will be the next big Windows Phone model. Nokia Bandit, the 6” phablet that will likely go by the name Lumia 1520 has just has its specs revealed by Evleaks, who has been a steady stream of high quality leaks over the past few months. According to the leaks, the 1520 will have a Snapdragon 800 processor, 1080P screen, 2GB of RAM, 16 and 32 GB storage options, 20MP camera featuring Pureview technology (no surprise there), Qi wireless charging and will come in black, white and yellow. This is clearly a large device that will be targeting the phablet market that Samsung has been playing in with its Note series of devices. source

The Nokia Lumia 1320, which had a code name of Batman according to reliable source @evleaks, is now available to be pre-ordered in . The phablet is priced at 399 EUR ($550 USD) online by retailer notebooksbilliger.de. The 6 inch screen belies the fact that the rest of the phone's specs are nothing to write home about, and this is certainly not the Nokia Lumia 1520 which is superior to it in every way. Besides the 6 inch 720 x 1280 resolution LCD screen (which offers a middling 245ppi pixel density), the Nokia Lumia 1320 is powered by a dual-core 1.7GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor with the Adreno 305 crunching the graphics. 1GB of RAM is inside along with 8GB of native storage. The latter can be expanded with the use of the 64GB capacity microSD slot. Nokia includes a surprisingly powerful 3400mAh cell to provide the juice to run the 6 inch glass. On back is a 5MP snapper with an f/2.4 aperture. That might be enough to capture some decent pictures in low-light. Video is captured in 1080 x 1920 at 30fps. There is a VGA front-facing camera. The Nokia Lumia 1320 offers fast LTE and HSPA+ connectivity and is being offered in black, white, yellow and orange. source: phonearena
