Karlston posted a news in Software News
Microsoft has released a new set of free virtual machines for developers. The Windows Development Environment (WDE) has been updated to version 2306, and you can download it for free from the official website. The Windows 11 Development Environment is a set of virtual machines you can use without activation for free for 90 days. The project's main purpose is to provide developers with all the necessary tools to start making apps for Windows, which include the following: Visual Studio 2022 Community Edition with USP, .NET Desktop, Azure, and Windows App SDK for C# workloads enabled. Windows Subsystem for Linux 2 enabled with Ubuntu installed and pinned to the taskbar. Windows Terminal installed. Windows Developer mode enabled. WDE version 2306 is based on Windows 11 Enterprise SKU with build number 22621.1848, the latest release currently available in the stable channel. Version 22621.1848 is also known as the "Moment 3" update. Check out our full review to learn what is new in the Windows 11 "Moment 3" update. It is worth noting that Microsoft is gradually rolling out "Moment 3" features. Therefore, the updated virtual machines have the new features disabled by default, but you can bypass that with the corresponding toggle in Windows Update settings. The Windows 11 Development Environment version 2306 is valid until September 13, 2023. Microsoft notes that you cannot activate these virtual machines since they are evaluation-only. Developers and enthusiasts can download the latest Windows 11 Development Environment virtual machines for free from the official Microsoft Developer website. Available configurations include VMWare (Workstation and Player), second-generation Hyper-V, VirtualBox, and Parallels (sadly, there is no ARM version of the project). Note that you will need at least 70GB of free disk space and a minimum of 8GB of RAM. If you do not need all the developer tools Microsoft provides in WDE, check out the company's Windows 10 and 11 Enterprise "clean" evaluation images. Source -
Don't have the big new Windows 11 Moment 3 update yet? Here's why.
Karlston posted a news in Software News
The Windows 11 Moment 3 update will roll out to everyone via July's Patch Tuesday release. Toward the end of May 2023, Microsoft held its annual conference for developers, Build 2023, where it made many announcements, including integrating Bing into OpenAI's chatbot, ChatGPT, Windows Copilot, and more. Alongside the long list of announcements, the tech giant indicated it was gearing up to ship Windows 11's second feature drop, also known as "Moment 3." Microsoft had already tested some of the features that are part of the update with Windows 11 Insiders and was now ready to ship it to broad availability. The company indicated that the update would start rolling out to users as an optional preview update on May 24, allowing users to download and install the Moment 3 update at their pleasure. Microsoft further disclosed that it would bump everyone to the latest version of Windows 11, version 22H2, on June 13, 2023, as part of its Patch Tuesday update. The installment shipped with several key features, such as a refreshed Widgets Board with new layout options that separate widgets from the MSN feed, a new Win32 app isolation feature designed to let users safely run legacy programs on their devices, and more. However, it hasn't hit every PC out there just yet. Read on to find out more about Moment 3, and some of the requirements you may need before you can actually download it. Moment 3 is rolling out The big notable features part of the Moment 3 update include: New animated Taskbar weather icons Bing AI button in the Taskbar search bar 2FA code recognition in notifications Multi-app kiosk mode Show clock seconds in the system tray Glanceable VPN status icon in the Taskbar Various improvements to Voice Access Support for more languages in the live captions feature Updated touch keyboard settings Cloud suggestions in Simplified Chinese IME USB4 settings page Search box will be lighter when app mode is set to light Access keys in File Explorer Create live kernel dumps in Task Manager Last year, Microsoft adopted a new Windows development cycle. This means it would release major versions of the Windows client every three years. The company had initially announced that it would make annual releases for new versions of Windows, but it has since pulled the plug on the move. Previously, users had to wait for Microsoft's annual fall release of Windows to access new features, but this is no longer the case. The company started releasing these feature updates last year and has stayed the course till now. As we speak, Microsoft has already shipped two major feature updates to Windows 11 users. The first installment was released in February, and as you'd expect, the company incorporated AI capabilities into the update following its debut of the new Bing. Additionally, the update shipped with screen recording support for the Snipping tool and Phone Link support for iOS, allowing users to use iMessage directly from Windows 11 PCs. And now, the company has released its second installment for the year, Moment 3. The update should've been downloaded and installed automatically on everyone's PC via the recently released Patch Tuesday update. Granted, Microsoft has highlighted a couple of system requirements that a device should conform to before installing the update: Windows 11, version 22H2 is broadly available to all users with eligible devices who check for updates. Microsoft is delivering continuous innovation to Windows 11 more frequently. If you’re using Home or Pro consumer devices or non-managed business devices running Windows 11, version 22H2, you can get some of these newest experiences as soon as they’re ready for your device. Microsoft As highlighted by our Senior Editor, Zac Bowden, "To get this update, head to Windows Update select the "check for updates" button. You should see 06-2023 Cumulative Update for Windows 11 (KB5027231) begin downloading. This is the June 2023 update with the new features." (Image credit: Kevin Okemwa) In my case, I initially tried downloading and installing Moment 3 onto my PC on May 24 as an optional preview update but to no avail. I waited for the Patch Tuesday update to ship to everyone, but that didn't work, but I've since been able to get the update on my PC after enabling the 'Get the latest updates as soon as they’re available' option. As such, there shouldn't be any reason for you to be concerned if you don't have the update yet. Microsoft rolls out these updates in phases. This is why it's not available for everyone immediately. The company uses this release schedule as a safety feature to ensure that they are able to establish control over the update and that it isn't bricking devices. Notably, June's Patch Tuesday update does ship with the Moment 3 update, but the features are hidden for some users since the rollout is underway. This is why some users have access to these features while others don't. As it happens, the update is now expected to roll out to fully everyone via next month's cumulative update (Patch Tuesday update), which is expected to ship on July 11, 2023. At this point, you'll be able to check out the top 7 features from the Moment 3 update. What's next: Windows 11 version 23H2 Microsoft has already kick-started the development of the next version of Windows 11, slated to start rolling out in the fall. That's between September and October. Windows 11 version 23H2, unlike its predecessor, will ship with a plethora of features designed to enhance user experience and promote efficiency. And the most notable feature that's likely to roll out with this new version is Windows Copilot. The AI assistant will use the same technology Microsoft uses on the Microsoft 365 Copilot and Bing Chat, ChatGPT. As such, it'll be easier for users to leverage its capabilities to grasp complex topics. As you might already be aware, Microsoft announced it would officially pull the plug on Cortana on Windows 11 and 10 later this year, during the fall. This lines up perfectly with Windows 11 version 23H2 rollout time. This could be Microsoft's bid to replace the Cortana experience across its operating systems with new and modern entries such as Windows Copilot. The new feature allows users to adjust their PC settings, summarize content, launch playlists in Spotify, and more. Moreover, the update will sport a File Explorer redesign featuring major changes to the app, starting from the header UI, which will present a similar experience to the one you find while browsing the web. As you'd expect, the tabs are at the very top of the app, followed by forward, back, and home buttons next to the address bar and search box. If you're a diehard fan of the legacy File Explorer layout and aren't looking forward to the overhaul and revamp. Microsoft recently announced that it'd retain some legacy features on the platform it had initially planned to scrap. Some of the features include: Hide Folder Merge conflict. Always show icons, never thumbnails. Display file icon on thumbnails. Display file type information on Folder tips. Hide protected OS files. Show drive letters. Show popup description for Folder and Desktop items. Show encrypted or compressed NTFS files in colour. Use sharing wizard. With this in mind, Microsoft launched Windows 11 in 2021. That would mean that the company is set to ship its next major version of the Windows client in 2024. As it happens, the company could be on course with these plans. For instance, Microsoft announced that it would be phasing out Windows 11's Calendar and Mail apps and replacing them with the new Outlook. And while Microsoft has updated the timeline for when this change is supposed to be implemented, it has finally settled for the end of 2024. Windows 12 rumors, and the future Interestingly, the timeline neatly aligns with when Microsoft is supposed to ship its next major version of Windows, Windows 12 (codenamed Hudson Valley). "Windows 12" rumors have been reeking in the air for some time now, and we already know quite a bit about the operating system. Unsurprisingly, the new OS will reportedly be packed with new features and many AI capabilities owing to its keen interest and heavy investment in generative technology in the past few months. That being said, users may soon be able to analyze content displayed on the screen and use the information to provide contextual prompts that will help them get started with projects and apps quickly. Windows 12 will also sport a new user interface. Alongside adopting a new Windows development cycle, the company also highlighted that it would intensify the release of new features to the current version of Windows on the market. We'll just have to wait and see Microsoft’s direction. Have you been able to download and install the Moment 3 Update on your device? Share your thoughts with us in the comments. Source -
More Windows 11 22H2 Moment 3 enablement packages leak, releasing later in 2023

Back in November 2022, Microsoft started enabling its upcoming Windows 11 Moment 3 update for the first time. Back then, we found traces of the upcoming feature update in Dev Channel builds. It was also around this same time that Microsoft moved into the Zinc development semester. Internal test IDs revealed that the Redmond giant had begun enabling Moment 3, and even Moment 4, features in the Dev channel. Fast forward three months to February 2023, things have apparently begun progressing into the Beta channel. Around a couple of weeks back, what seem to be internal builds, 23141 and 23145, were spotted. And now it looks like the upcoming Moment 3 update is readying for a rollout to Windows 11 Insiders via the Beta channel some time in the very near future. Yesterday, a new build 22624 (KB5023011) popped up and was spotted by users online in the form of enablement package (EKB5023595). The 2262x build numbers are deployed by Microsoft for the Beta channel and the upcoming Moment 2 feature update uses "22623", and likewise, 22624 is meant to denote Moment 3. Since then, more packages for Moment 3 have surfaced today, inside the latest Beta build. This is also one of the few times that the "moment" reference has been seen inside Windows. In terms of release date, earlier reports had suggested that Windows 11 22H2 Moment 3 could be out in May of this year. Further reports suggest it will be followed by Moment 4 later in the year (Windows 11 version 23H2). In fact, new rumors of 23H2 also made the rounds recently. While the progress is good to see, there of course remain loads of bugs to iron out. One of those might be related to the default NVMe driver on Windows 11, which is causing BSOD and freezing issues for WD SSDs. Internal test IDs revealed that the Redmond giant had begun enabling Moment 3, and even Moment 4, features in the Dev channel. Up until now, anything and everything around Moment 3 revolved around the Dev Channel. However, things are now starting to spill over to the Beta Channel as well, indicating that future Moment 3 features are now moving in slightly closer to the general availability. Twitter user and Windows enthusiast Xeno noticed mentions of future Beta channel builds 23141 and 23145 in the recent Beta channel releases. They speculate that the new build numbers are indicative of Windows 11 Moment 3. The mentions were found in the Microsoft Symbol Server which may be hinting at the ongoing debugging and development efforts by the company. This makes sense as earlier reports had suggested that Windows 11 22H2 Moment 3 could be out in May this year. Further reports suggest it will be followed by Moment 4 later in the year (Windows 11 version 23H2). Microsoft has recently unveiled Moment 3, an updated feature for Windows 11 that offers a range of advantageous enhancements and performance improvements. This update holds the potential to persuade numerous Windows 10 users to make the transition to Windows 11. In a blog post published shortly after the release of Moment 3, Microsoft provided a comprehensive account of the company's year-long efforts to enhance the experience for over a billion users worldwide. The post serves as a condensed overview of all the changes implemented in the Insider channels throughout the past year, now incorporated into the Moment 3 update. Panos Panay, Microsoft's Executive Vice President and Chief Product Officer, had once reminded people that its latest OS was “all about quality” and once again, the firm has reminded users that Windows 11 is the "most reliable version of Windows ever" in the list of highlights. The blog post reads: We improved frequently used shell interactions like Taskbar, Notifications, and Quick Settings by as much as 15%! Getting users into productivity faster by improving the time it takes to get to the desktop by 10% and reducing the impact of startup apps by over 50%. Making PCs more sustainable with our new Energy Recommendations and Carbon-Aware Windows Update. We see a 6% average reduction in energy consumption for the users who use the recommended energy settings Windows 11 is the most reliable version of Windows ever, with recent updates continuing to improve reliability. Microsoft Edge starts up faster than ever before and saves memory with features like Sleeping Tabs, which saves up to 83% of memory for background tabs. The new Teams app for Windows is 2x faster while using half the resources. Amidst a series of negative news stories, system crashes, and software glitches associated with Windows 11 and its subsequent updates and fixes throughout the year, Microsoft has taken an interesting approach by publishing a blog post that highlights the positive aspects of their latest Moment 3 update. This move can be seen as an effort by the tech giant to reinforce confidence in their product, especially considering the mixed reception Windows 11 has received thus far. Microsoft's extensive list is "all about improvements" they claim to have made, ranging from environmentally friendly PC enhancements to faster startup times for Microsoft Edge, and even increased user productivity by reducing desktop access time. While the Moment 3 update has been generally well-received, if not eagerly awaited, Microsoft still faces the challenge of convincing more users to migrate to Windows 11. Image source: Unsplash Should I install Windows 11? Recent negative headlines have certainly added to this challenge. However, the blog post could serve as a persuasive tool for those hesitant about upgrading, offering a comprehensive overview of the main changes and potentially alleviating concerns in the decision-making process. It is worth noting that some of the listed enhancements remain somewhat vague, leaving room for interpretation. Undeniably, Moment 3 represents a positive step forward and showcases the significant progress made by Windows since the troubled days of Windows Vista. By providing consumers with a detailed blog post outlining all the changes made, Microsoft aims to simplify the process of convincing users to upgrade. The extent of persuasion achieved by this approach remains to be seen and will undoubtedly be determined by individual users' responses. What do you think? Is Windows 11 all about quality? Would you consider upgrading if you have not yet? Can Moment 3 update make people install Windows 11?

Microsoft began rolling out Moment 3 earlier today. Moment 3 is the latest feature update for Windows 11 version 22H2 and is now available for download as a preview release under KB5026446 (Build 22621.1778); the changelog, as expected, is very long. Microsoft releases such Moment updates every three months or so and these add new features. Officially the tech giant refers to it as Continuous Innovation. Along with that, Microsoft has also announced that Windows 11 22H2 is now ready for broader deployment, stating that the operating system is now "broadly available to all users with eligible devices who check for updates". Of course, to get it a device has to meet the system requirements of Windows 11 22H2. Microsoft has, in the past, erroneously pushed out Windows 11 on unsupported PCs, though later, it fixed it. On the Windows health dashboard website, the company has updated the status for Windows 11 22H2. Microsoft explains: Windows 11, version 22H2 is broadly available to all users with eligible devices who check for updates. Microsoft is delivering continuous innovation to Windows 11 more frequently. If you’re using Home or Pro consumer devices or non-managed business devices running Windows 11, version 22H2, you can get some of these newest experiences as soon as they’re ready for your device. To do so, open Settings > Windows Update. Select Get the latest updates as soon as they are available, and set the toggle to On. Note that the toggle won't be enabled for managed devices. These are managed by Windows Update for Business or Windows Server Update Services (WSUS). If you want a brief rundown of all the new features and improvements that Moment 3, you can find it here, though for a more in-depth look, refer to this article instead. Meanwhile, for users still on Windows 10 21H2, Microsoft has confirmed that it will soon force-update such computers to Windows 10 22H2, and of course, there was a reminder about Windows 11 as well. Microsoft announces Windows 11 ‘Moment 3’ update, here are the new features
Karlston posted a news in Software News
Microsoft has announced the Windows 11 22H2 'Moment 3' update, bringing many new and long-awaited features to the operating system. This is the third-moment update for Windows 11, and it will begin rolling out to users via May 24th's optional update. The Moment 3 changes will be turned off by default, but you can enable the features by turning on a toggle in Windows Update settings. The Moment 3 features will be enabled by default in June's optional update and July's Patch Tuesday. Microsoft's approach to updating its operating systems has seen a significant shift with Windows 11. Unlike its predecessor, Windows 10, which received two substantial feature updates annually, Windows 11 is slated to get only one major feature update per year. However, this doesn't mean that users have to wait a year for new features and improvements. Microsoft has introduced a new update process known as "Moments." Windows 11 "Moments" are part of the standard cumulative updates, but with a twist. Rather than just providing bug fixes and security patches, these updates also bring new features to Windows 11. What's new in the Windows 11 22H2 Moment 3 update The Moment 3 update is primed to bolster privacy settings, offering users greater transparency and control over their personal information. Specifically, new app privacy settings will allow users to manage access to presence sensor information and adjust features such as 'wake on approach' and 'lock on leave.' Recognizing the importance of secure internet connections, Microsoft is introducing a glanceable VPN feature. Users can quickly determine their VPN status through a shield icon appearing on the taskbar over their active network connection. Pluton chips and Moment 3 integration Microsoft is advancing its built-in security measures from chip to cloud with the integration of the Microsoft Pluton security processor, providing stronger protection against malware, hardware attacks, and enhanced credential security. The Moment 3 update will expand Pluton's availability to more AMD systems, including the Phoenix line. Badging in the Start menu To help users stay informed of their account status, Microsoft will also roll out account badging in June. This feature alerts users via the Start menu when their accounts require attention, thereby aiding in protecting their data and PC. Other improvements Windows 11's Moment 3 update also aims to make audio content more accessible by expanding the live captions feature, launched with the Windows 11 2022 Update, to ten additional languages across 21 regions. In partnership with Samsung Galaxy and Intel, Microsoft is also set to introduce Bluetooth® Low Energy Audio, a first for the PC ecosystem. This feature offers high-quality audio at low power, enhancing the user experience for calls, videos, and music on compatible devices. Widgets on Windows 11 are set to improve, with a larger layout for user-pinned apps and a personalized feed for easy access to news and a personal collection of widgets. Lastly, Microsoft will preview new security innovations to strengthen hardware and software protection, including token protection for sign-ins, Windows 365 Boot, and new isolation capabilities for Win32 apps. This update reaffirms Microsoft's commitment to providing user-friendly and secure experiences to its Windows 11 user base. Feedback from early review and testing will ensure the new features meet users' expectations. Microsoft announces Windows 11 ‘Moment 3’ update, here are the new features -
It is time for another Windows 11 feature drop with new capabilities, changes, and fixes. After releasing the "Moment 2" update in late February 2023, Microsoft is about to ship the next release, unofficially called "Moment 3." Here is everything you need to know about it. If you are new to Windows 11, we recommend checking out our reviews for version 22H2 (a massive update), Moment 1, and Moment 2. Also, those trying Windows 11 for the first time should see our article listing the ten most requested features Microsoft has already brought to its operating system. Windows 11 "Moment 3" Update Build Number 22621.1776 Release Date TBA Allegedly late May or early June 2023 How to get the update Windows Insider Program - Release Preview Channel Will be available via Windows Update once released. Changes in hardware requirements TBA What is new in Windows 11 "Moment 3" Update? The upcoming Windows 11 feature update is a part of Microsoft's new approach to servicing Windows. Instead of releasing one big update every year (as initially planned), the company ships new features as a part of monthly cumulative updates. Therefore, the changelog for each "Moment" update is smaller than what we received in the first "big" update for Windows 11 in the second half of 2022. Table of contents: Taskbar and Notifications Improvements Task Manager Improvements Settings Improvements Widgets Improvements Accessibility Improvements All sorts of fixes Bonus - Wallpapers Taskbar and Notifications Improvements Windows 11 users will be happy to find a couple of excellent additions to the taskbar. For example, the network icon can indicate an active VPN connection with a small lock icon. However, it is worth noting that the indicator appears only when you use "native" VPN connections set up in the Settings app. Unfortunately, the icon remains unchanged if you use third-party VPN applications. For many, an updated taskbar clock will be the best change in the "Moment 3" update. The clock can now display seconds, one of the most requested features from users migrating from Windows 10 to 11. To enable this change, head to Settings > Personalization > Taskbar > Taskbar Behaviors and check the "Show seconds in system tray clock" option. Microsoft warns that that may increase power consumption, which is a statement we have yet to test. Another great quality-of-life improvement in the Windows 11 "Moment 3" update is a button that lets you copy two-factor authentication codes from notifications with a single click. This feature is already available on Android and iOS, and now Microsoft is bringing it to its desktop operating system, allowing it to recognize two-factor authentication codes in your notifications—no more opening emails just to copy a few numbers. Note that the button to copy 2FA codes from notifications does not support languages other than English. Sadly, it will take some time for Microsoft to bring this convenience to those using Windows 11 with other languages. Task Manager Improvements Task Manager in Windows 11 now supports live kernel memory dump, a feature for gathering data to troubleshoot a specific issue while the operating system continues running. A regular user is unlikely to find this change useful, but it will serve great to developers in need of investigating unresponsive applications or other issues. You can create a live kernel memory dump by heading to Task Manager > Details. Right-click the system process and select the "Create live kernel memory dump file" option. Settings Improvements Touch Keyboard Improvements The Touch Keyboard settings section under Settings > Time & Language > Typing has received a new dropdown with three options: The Never option prevents the touch keyboard from opening all the time. The When no keyboard attached option ensures the touch keyboard appears on the screen when you use a touch-enabled device as a tablet without a physical keyboard. Finally, the Always option is self-explanatory: Enabling this will make the touch keyboard appear whenever you click a text input field. Content Adaptive Brightness Control (CABC) CABC is an energy-saving feature for laptops and tablets which can preserve the battery by lowering or raising the brightness depending on the content on the screen. Although it is not new in Windows 11, the latest update introduced more customization: toggled off, on battery only, and always on. Note that the setting will not appear on your laptop or tablet if the manufacturer has not enabled it. Check if your computer supports it by heading to Settings > System > Display > Brightness. USB4 Settings Page Those with a modern computer with USB4 ports can check out a new Settings page that provides information about USB4-based hubs and connected devices. It will not appear on systems without USB4 with the Microsoft USB4 Connection Manager. Print Screen Key Changes The Windows 11 "Moment 3" update changes the default behavior for the Print Screen key, one of the oldest methods to take screenshots in Windows. Instead of copying what is on the screen to the clipboard, hitting the key now launches the Snipping Tool app. Microsoft understands that some users will dislike the change, so it allows reverting to the old behavior in Settings > Accessibility > Keyboard. Multitasking Changes Windows 11 allows displaying browser tabs when pressing Alt + Tab or using Snap Assist. In addition to displaying three, five, or all tabs, Windows 11 users can toggle on a new option that bumps that number to twenty. This one is for you, tab-hoggers. Better Cloud Storage Management The Settings app now has a dedicated section for all your OneDrive subscriptions and a better breakdown of the stored content. And finally, after updating to the Windows 11 "Moment 3" Update, users will notice search performance improvements in the Settings app. Widgets Improvements The update does not offer much for Windows Widgets. All it introduces is a redesigned widget picker that lets you preview a widget before pinning it to the board. There are rumors about Microsoft planning to let users place widgets on the desktop, but the capability is nowhere to be found in "Moment 3." Here is how the new picker compares to the old one: Accessibility improvements The update does not contain new accessibility features. Instead, it builds upon those introduced in the previous updates, namely Live Captions and Voice Access. System-wide offline Live Captions now support the following languages: Chinese (Simplified and Traditional) French ( and Canada) German Italian Japanese Portuguese (Brazil and Portugal) Spanish Danish English (Ireland and other dialects) Korean You can toggle Live Captions using the Win + Ctrl + L shortcut or the Quick Actions Menu > Accessibility. Note that the first launch requires downloading an extra package, after which you can use Live Captions offline. To change the language, click the button with a gear icon and select Caption language. Another accessibility-related change in the "Moment 3" update is Voice Access improvements. As the name implies, Voice Access is a feature that lets you control a Windows 11 PC with your voice. With the latest OS release, Voice Access received a redesigned help page with a description for each command and its variations. Besides, Voice Access now supports the following English dialects (sadly, English remains the only supported language): English (United Kingdom) English (India) English (New Zealand) English (Canada) English (Australia) Finally, Voice Access received new text selection and editing commands. You can tell your computer to highlight text from one part to another, delete something, apply specific formatting, etc. Lots of fixes Now here are less prominent, but still important fixes, changes, and improvements in the Windows 11 "Moment 3" update: This update addresses an issue that affects Narrator. The Windows 11 Moment 3 update is now on its final stretch to public release. Microsoft has started rolling out the update to insiders in the Release Preview Channel, and it will soon become available to all Windows 11 users. Still, even after downloading the latest build (22621.1776), you might not have access to the new features as Microsoft is gradually rolling out the update to test the waters. Those unhappy with such a questionable approach can fix the situation by doing the following: Open Settings and go to Windows Update. Toggle on the "Get the latest updates as soon as they're available" option. Note that the feature is not available on managed computers. Download and install available to your device updates. Toggling on the "fast lane" switch should be enough to enable Moment 3's features on your computer. But if that did not work, try force-enabling the update using the ViVeTool app (credits for the ID goes to @PhantomOfEarth on Twitter): Download ViveTool from GitHub and unpack the archive in a convenient and easy-to-find folder. Press Win + X and select Terminal (Admin). Switch Windows Terminal to the Command Prompt profile with the Ctrl + Shift + 2 shortcut or by clicking the arrow-down button at the top of the window. Navigate to the folder containing the ViveTool files with the CD command. For example, if you have placed ViveTool in C:\Vive, type CD C:\Vive. Type vivetool /enable /id:41655236 and press Enter. Restart your computer. The Windows 11 Moment 3 update has an extensive list of new features and improvements.
