The Xbox Live outage that lasted for several hours today has now been fixed [Update]
Karlston posted a news in Technology News
Update: 9:05 pm Eastern time - Microsoft now says it has fixed the Xbox Live Outage that lasted for several hours earlier today. The Xbox Support X account offered no info on what caused the original outage. Original story - Microsoft is currently dealing with a major issue concerning its Xbox Live online gaming service. After a number of Xbox gamers noted on their social media accounts that they could not sign into Xbox Live, Microsoft's Xbox Status website first posted word that an outage was happening a few hours ago around 2:07 pm Eastern time. The message stated: The status page's latest update on the outage was posted at 5:08 pm Eastern time, The message on the post says simply, "We encountered a related issue." There's no word on what this "related issue" is nor is there any word on when this entire Xbox Live outage might be resolved. Microsoft's Xbox Support account on X has also posted up an update, saying that the company's efforts into checking into this problem "is taking longer than expected." Again, there's no specifics on what is causing the issue. The timing of this particular issue is not a good one. The July 4th-Independence Day holiday week is currently underway in the US. Lots of people already have some time off to play online multiplayer games on their Xbox consoles. The Xbox Live outage means those gamers won't be able to get in any matches in popular games like the titles in the various Call of Duty games, the Halo titles, and more. We will update this article when and if we get more information from Microsoft about this Xbox Live outage or if the problem is finally resolved. Source Hope you enjoyed this news post. Xbox Live goes down on day of Titanfall release? Error 0x8004804E prevents users from logging in. Multiple Xbox One users have reported problems while attempting to sign in to their Xbox Live profile, just hours after the North American launch of the console's most anticipated title Titanfall. Attempting to log in causes some users to see error code 0x8004804E and an error message that reads: "There was a problem. We could not sign you in. Try again in a few minutes, or check your account by signing in to account.live.com." The error prevents those affected from signing in to their Xbox Live gamertag, stopping them from heading online, playing multiplayer games and accessing their save files. The problem first seemed to appear at around 7:30pm this evening and is not believed to affect Xbox 360. Microsoft's Xbox Live support page states that there is currently a problem with players "joining other Xbox Live members in online games", but doesn't specifically acknowledge the sign-in error. "Hi Xbox members, are you running into issues matchmaking in Titanfall or Forza 5?" reads the update. "We'll take it from here. Our team is currently working to get to the bottom of this. We appreciate your patience while we investigate. We'll update you again in 30 minutes." It isn't clear how many people have been affected by the issue or when it will be resolved. UPDATE - 21:01: Microsoft has formally acknowledged the problem, stating that it is "hard at work investigating this issue right now. Thanks for being patient while we work." UPDATE 2 - 22:32: Xbox Support says that it can't provide an estimate for when normal service will resume, but that it is trying to resolve the issue as soon as possible. Apparently the problem "doesn't have anything to do with Titanfall", either. Source: twitter.com, reddit.com, xbox.com, Xbox One source Bloody annoying!!!!!!!! its been down for around 2 hour's!
